Washing and Nappy Care
Our nappies are designed to last a long time. Following these ideas for washing and looking after them will ensure they last as long as possible.
Please note that Little Fern nappies will need to be washed a few times to reach their full absorbency. They are usable after being washed once but will be most effective after 8-10 washes.
Washing Instructions
-
Tip solids into the toilet.
-
Wipe or rinse any residue from the fleece lining of the nappy.
-
Store dry in a bucket or basket. Please do not soak.
-
Rinse in the washing machine without detergent. This can be a rinse or short cycle (not a pre-wash) as the water will fully drain taking any leftover waste with it.
-
Wash on a long cycle with biological detergent. Little Fern nappies can be washed at 60 degrees but we recommend washing at 40 degrees where possible to gain the maximum possible lifespan of the nappies.
Drying Your Nappies
Nappies should be air dried where possible. Line drying outside is ideal. If drying inside please do not place your nappies directly onto a heat source such as a radiator or heated airer as this can damage them.

Our nappies can be tumble dried on low occasionally but please be aware that this can shorten the overall lifespan of the nappies.
